AERIAL SURVEYING and MAPPING
The Aerial surveying component of our business is known as 3D Mapping Solutions. Started in 2012, 3D Mapping Solutions was one of the first commercial companies in the State of Tasmania to be fully certified by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) as UAV operators. The company currently has a fixed wing Sensefly Ebee UAV (Drone) which is used for Aerial Surveying and Mapping to obtain a wide range of products for our clients.
High resolution Aerial Imagery
The Sensefly Ebee takes a series of high resolution images which are processed in our specialised software to create one ortho-rectified high resolution image. These images are ideal for a wide range of applications such as:
Large Project value adding to provide context to plans and documentation.
3D Terrain Mapping
From the high resolution Images and obtaining common ground control points our specialised software can generate a ground elevation model of the terrain within the image. This 3D elevation model is ideal for the following applications:
Quantity surveys for stockpiles and quarries.
Aerial surveying for dam proposals, watershed calculations & landslide assessments.
Terrain models for large scale projects, rural properties, golf courses and drainage studies.
Flood plain modelling.
Farm contour modelling for drainage and irrigation infrastructure design and construction.
Crop Health Mapping
Using our Near Infrared camera on-board our UAV we can obtain images in the near infrared spectrum. We also have the ability to obtain Multi Spectral Imagery. From these images our software creates Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) Imagery for vegetation and crop health mapping. This helps to monitor the health of crops at a specific moment in time. These images can provide farmers, viticulturists and agronomists with valuable information on how to manage crops throughout the growing cycle.
Our UAV has the ability to take Thermal Imagery using a Thermal Imagery Camera. These images are ideal for monitoring the Thermal properties of objects and vegetation from the air.
